I was the speaker at the Jan-Kay Ranch summer camp where four churches sent their youth to have fun and be impacted by God's Word. I spoke about 45 minutes to an hour every day (Monday-Friday). The place is gorgeous. There were animals, canoes, games, fishing, swimming, and most important the youth had three different sessions where they were challenged to make hard decisions as adolescents. What a special time of ministry. I saw some come to faith, others confess their sins, and commit to following the Lord.
I taught on three crucial theological issues: (1) justification is how one can be legally acquitted in God's heavenly tribunal, (2) when that happens God provides the believer eternal life to be able to open, enjoy, and use the gift. Many illustrations were used to clarify abstract theological and legal concepts. But the most important part is that I emphatically stated how salvation comes by faith alone in Christ alone, apart from any pre or post commitment after one believes in Jesus for the free gift of eternal life. As a result, one can be 100% sure that no matter what happens from now until they die Christ’s promise cannot be lost. (3) The third day I spoke about the two types of glorification demonstrated in the Bible: (a) sanctification is detached from salvation-glorification (i.e., this is the last stage of our salvation when believers get a new glorified body) and sanctification determines the type of glorification one receives to enjoy eternity (i.e., the believers receive rewards and rule with Christ upon His glorification to rule determined by one's faithfulness to Him in this life). (4) The fourth day I shared my life-testimony to show that change is not a mission impossible. God can change anyone who seeks Him not only their eternal status upon faith in Jesus for eternal life but here in now to serve Him.(5) The last day I lived up to the name of my ministry: Scripture Unlocked Ministries. I took hard questions the youth wanted to know about the Bible. Both of my books were given out to outstanding performers of a talent show and as a price to the hardest theological question asked by a youth. The counselors then voted to determine the question and who got the books. One of those questions will be appearing in the upcoming newsletter.
As a result of this excellent opportunity, I will be mentoring two teenagers. What a time of seeing God's hand move in the life of these young adults facing the world already and getting ready for bigger and harder challenges. Thanks for your donations that make this possible. For those who are just learning about SUM, please pray for us and consider supporting us so that we can get God's free grace message out and teach the deeper truths of Scripture in order for people of all ages to mature.
