I attended the national ETS Conference where I presented a theological paper. Numerous other friends of SUM where there presenting papers themselves. One night was particular special when a number of us decided to eat at an original New Orleans restaurant. So we headed down Bourbon Street. Wow! What a site to behold. It was a bit wild. So many in need of the Gospel. Finally we found a very good restaurant with good old fashion New Orleans gumbo, Jambalaya, and other creole food.
Obviously, SUM's purpose of attending these conferences is to clarify Grace issues as well as other difficult passages related to scriptural truths that allows people to understand and apply these passage in order to bring about change. Your prayers and gracious donations are what makes this possible. Thanks!!!

SUM provided a small grace conference that clarified salvation issues and how to understand repentance in relations to salvation and the Christian life. Pastor Jeff made me and my wife (Marialis) feel like part of the family. What a wonderful time of ministry and fellowship.

Teaching at Moody 2010
I had a great time teaching the Book of Romans as a "Guest Lecturer" at Moody Bible Institute. The students were very responsive and the topics covered generated interest and great discussion that lasted even after class was over. Most of these students are about to graduate as pilots and go on the mission field to minister all over the world. I became great friends with the associate dean Dr. Jack Lewis. This is a great school for anyone wanting to learn the Bible, especially free grace advocates. In his own words, here's his description: "Moody Bible Institute – Spokane is a branch campus of the more familiar Chicago school. There are currently over 300 full-time students, and over 400 are anticipated beginning this next fall. While there are seven bachelor level degree programs, including majors like Bible, Missions, and Youth Ministry, the program which is unique to the Spokane campus is Moody’s Missionary Aviation program. Historically Moody has trained approximately half of the world’s missionary pilots; the program is now a part of Moody Bible Institute – Spokane.
The month of January fits between fall and spring semesters at MBI-Spokane. This provides an opportunity for Aviation students, among others, to take accelerated modular courses. The book of Romans is a required course in Moody’s curriculum, and Jan Term is when most aviation students enroll in the course."

There has long been a need for a commentary on the New Testament from a Free Grace perspective that explains such verses as these. The Grace New Testament Commentary provides explanation of all of the difficult New Testament texts, including the ones that seem to deny eternal security, ones that seem to contradict justification by faith alone, and ones that seem to condition kingdom entrance upon perseverance.
Simply by Grace is an easy-to-read introduction to a core Christian belief. By looking at the major questions and issues that surround the concept of grace, Charles C. Bing helps readers understand and appreciate this God-given gift and how simple it really is. "Because only when you understand the simplicity of His grace," writes Bing, "can you begin to understand its deep riches also."
